Dissertation Title: The Built Environment, Travel Behaviors, and Active Transportation Safety

Mingyu is a PhD student in the Urban Design and Planning program at University of Washington, and part of the Urban Ecology Research Lab. Before joining this program, he was a researcher / research management officer at Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements (KRIHS) for five years. He received his Masters in City Planning and a BS in Political Science at Seoul National University (SNU). His major research interest lies at the intersection between urban spatial structure and various urban indicators. Especially, he is focusing on travel behaviors, safety and health outcomes. He enjoys applying statistical methods, GIS and data visualization techniques in his research.
