Program: Interdisciplinary PhD in Urban Design and Planning
Meen Chel Jung is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Urban Design and Planning at the University of Washington, Seattle. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Urban Planning and Engineering from Yonsei University, South Korea. As a member of the Urban Ecology Research Lab (UERL), his overarching research interest lies at the intersection between urban spatial structure and environmental planning. Especially, he is currently conducting research on urban modeling, urban heat island, and mitigation strategy. All of his research is based on quantitative statistical methods, geospatial analyses, and computational techniques.
